European Light Heavyweight Champion Eduard Gutknecht (23-1, 9 KOs) will defend his title against Tony Averlant (17-5-2,4 KOs) on Team Sauerland´s show in Kiel on March 31. It will be Gutknecht´s third title defence since winning the belt in May 2011. The 30-year-old last defeated Vyacheslav Uzelkov in Frankfurt in February. “That was an important victory for me,” Gutknecht stated. “I did exactly what my coach Mr Wegner asked of me. Now I am prepared for a tough fight against Averlant. I was ringside when he won the EU title against Artur Hein last year. He impressed me, he is a good boxer and comes forward all the time. I will be prepared for him and defend my title.”

In the main event of the night, Arthur Abraham (33-3, 27 KOs) will take on Piotr Wilczewski (30-2, 10 KOs).
