"Golden Jack"

"Golden Jack" to make his mark in Stuttgart

He is definitely one of Germany's biggest boxing talents in years. He was a world champion and winner of the famous Chemie-Pokal in the amateurs as well as still unbeaten in the pro ranks - and from now on, Jack Culcay is going to be part of Team-Sauerland.

The super welterweight, who also goes by the name "Golden Jack", recently signed a promotional deal with Sauerland Event. He started boxing at the age of twelve in his hometown of Darmstadt. The now 26-year-old Culcay not only won a gold medal in the amateur world championships in 2009 - the first German to do so in 14 years, giving him his nickname "Golden Jack" - but is also a national boxing champion of 2007 as well as a two-time winner of the prestigious Chemie-Pokal (Halle, Germany).

Being a professional boxer for over 2 years now, Culcay is rising fast in favour of boxing fans and shows an outstanding development in the professional ranks. He won his first 10 fights, 6 of them in style as he stopped his opponents like his last victim, Giammario Grassellini in just about 48 seconds before a crowding 10,000 people at Hartwall Arena, Helsinki (Finland).

"We are very happy to be teaming up with Sauerland Event - a partner, which from our point of view, is just the right one for a successful run to the top in professional boxing", says Moritz Klatten, manager of Jack Culcay. The naturally gifted athlete is going to make his debut for the Sauerland Event on the undercard of Alexander Povetkin vs. Marco Huck, February 25, in Stuttgart (Germany). Culcays opponent in Stuttgart will be Salvatore Annunziata (Italy).

As Kalle Sauerland states, "With Jack we signed one of the biggest talents coming out of Germany in years. We are very proud to have him aboard at Sauerland Event and looking forward to lots of action-packed and triumphant fights.
